Greater Topeka Fund

The Greater Topeka Fund is a grant program to support nonprofit organizations serving Topeka and Shawnee County. Established to enhance the quality of life in the region, this grant focuses on funding specific programs and projects that address community needs and enhance quality of life in our area.  In 2024, we awarded more than $120,000 from this grant fund to local nonprofits.

Grants will be awarded up to $10,000 dollars and the focus is the nonprofit's work contributing to a socially and economically prosperous Shawnee County and does it address a clear and compelling need/opportunity.

Only completed and qualifying applications will have the potential to be shared with Topeka Community Foundation donors and then onto the committee to review.

Better Together

The Topeka Community Foundation’s Better Together grants program, part of the Foundation’s broader mission to enhance quality of life in Shawnee County, awarded more than a half million dollars in 2024 to local nonprofit organizations. These grants focused specifically on the social determinants of health initiatives, which address the social, economic, and environmental factors that impact the health and well-being of individuals and communities. Social determinants of health include access to affordable housing, education, nutritious food, healthcare services, mental health services and a safe environment—all of which influence a person’s ability to live a healthy life. The Better Together grants aim to fund projects that address these key areas, creating lasting change and promoting long-term community health.

The Topeka Community Foundation encourages organizations to reach out and discuss their project ideas surrounding these areas. Grants will be tailored to the scope and needs of the initiatives, with the Foundation eager to support creative and impactful solutions.

Only completed and qualifying applications will be reviewed by the grants committee, with the potential for them to be shared with other Topeka Community Foundation donors for additional support.
